What happens after your doctor sends the prescription
This is where Prima works differently from a regular pharmacy. Here's the exact sequence from prescription to your door.
1
Your clinic sends us the prescription
You don't need to do anything. We receive it, review it, and begin immediately. No faxing, no calling around.
Same day
2
We verify your insurance within 24 hours
We contact your insurance and come back with exactly what's covered and what your out-of-pocket cost will be. No surprises at checkout.
Within 24 hrs
3
We apply every discount available to you
As a certified partner of EMD Serono and Ferring, we automatically apply Fertility Instant Savings Program pricing. Most patients don't know these programs exist until we tell them.

"Fertility treatment is one of the most personal journeys you'll take. Your pharmacy should make it a little easier, not harder."
When it arrives
Opening the box for the first time
Check each item off as you unpack your medications.
Cross-reference every medication against your protocol. If anything looks different — a brand swap, a different dose — call Prima before assuming it's correct or wrong.
Refrigerate medications that need it immediately — Gonal-F, Follistim, and Menopur must be kept cold. Check the package insert for your specific drug.
Keep trigger shot and suppression meds together in a clearly labeled spot. You'll need them at specific, time-sensitive moments.
If this is your first time injecting, call Prima to book a one-on-one training session with our nurse. Our Injecting 101 guide is also available online.
Save Prima's number in your phone: (718) 230-3535. Available 24/7 — not an answering service, someone who knows your protocol.
You're all set.
Prima is available 24/7 when questions come up mid-cycle.
Throughout your cycle
Your protocol will change. We change with it.
IVF protocols are rarely set-and-forget. Your doctor adjusts doses in real time based on how you respond.
1
Day 1 — Baseline monitoring
Ultrasound and bloodwork. Your clinic confirms your starting dose and gives Prima the green light to ship your initial medications.
2
Days 5–7 — Dose adjustment
Your clinic updates the protocol and notifies us directly. We adjust your order and ship the updated quantity same day.
Clinic notifies Prima directly
3
Trigger night — exact hour matters
Your clinic gives you a precise trigger time. If you have a question at 10pm, call us. We're available all night.
24/7 line: (718) 230-3535
4
After retrieval — progesterone support begins
New medications, new timing. Prima coordinates this transition so the right medications are there when you need them.
"IVF doesn't follow a Monday-through-Friday schedule. Neither do we. Prima is open seven days a week, 365 days a year."
The clinical side of IVF is demanding enough. The pharmacy side should be the part that just works. We've been a specialty pharmacy for over 30 years, working directly with clinics including NYU Langone, Cornell Weill, and CCRM Fertility.
Your first IVF medication order doesn't have to feel overwhelming. Give your clinic our name, and we'll take it from there.
Medication pricing reflects current Fertility Instant Savings Program rates through Prima as a certified EMD Serono and Ferring preferred partner. Pricing is subject to change. Patient eligibility for manufacturer savings programs varies.
